Hi, there! My name is Bob Barcus and I'm the Director of Operations for Apheus Solutions, LLC. I built my first ecommerce website back in 1997 and I've been designing websites ever since. Like most designers, I really enjoy what I do. I've lived here in Indiana my whole life and I'm proud to call myself a Hoosier Web Designer!
I founded Apheus back in 2007 after working for several years for a major restaurant chain. While I was there, I engineered several software programs to control inventory and help with labor management. I was also responsible for designing and maintaining the company's website.
My Design Style
I have my own style when it comes to website design. I love to create new things and enjoy watching a project develop from stage to stage. I've always been a fan of simplistic designs. Just take a look at my portfolio to see samples of different projects I have worked on in the recent past. My Programming Experience
I work with HTML and CSS on a daily basis. I like to work with PHP software on the backend of websites. In my opinion, PHP is one of the best software platforms ever created. It's simple, easy to manipulate, and very formable for various types of web applications. Combine that with a MySQL database and you just about everything you need to develop a completely dynamic website.
My Personal Life
My family is very important to me and its one of the reasons I never left my hometown of Argos, Indiana. I've lived here for more than 30 years and plan on living here for the rest of my life. I enjoy the simple life, but I have to admit that I would be completely lost if I didn't have my computers and the internet. After all, that is what pays the bills!
As you can see from many of the photos on this website, I am an avid railfan - I love trains! I have been the Treasurer of Board of Directors for the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum in North Judson, Indiana for the last few years and I am a certified and qualified conductor. I enjoy virtually every aspect of railroading and I collect various pieces of railroadiana.
