At Apheus, we're always trying to come up with better ways of improving our clients understanding of various website design and seo-readiness techniques. It may be hard to believe, but there is a method to our madness. Therefore, we have developed a basic concept that we call the Three F's of Website Design:

  1. Functionality
  2. Form
  3. Friendliness

In order for a website to be successful, we believe that it must adhere to these three basic principles. If your current website doesn't meet the criteria we've outlined with the Three F's of Website Design, then it may the perfect candidate for a website makeover.

1. Functionality

Website functionality comprises the overall way in which a website is served on the internet. This usually deals with a bunch of stuff that a site visitor will probably never see.

Adding functionality to a website can include determining what type of website architecture will be used to build the site, the type of server on which the website will be hosted, and adding features that can be used to enhance the overall experience of the user.

Apheus can help develop of list of features that can be integrated into your website. While many websites may only require minimal functionality, larger sites can potentially include dozens of various features. It's always best to talk with your web designer so that they can get a better feel for what you're expecting out of your website.

2. Form

The form a website takes comprises the overall look of a website and how content it is presented. This is what the visitor actually sees when loading your website.

Your website should be visually appealing, while delivering a consistent look and message. This is what we call a theme. Apheus can design your website theme to make the most of the functionality upon which it was built. Whether you've chosen static HTML pages or dynamically-driven PHP software, your website will be consistent in its design and purpose.

Once your theme has been established, we integrate your content into the site, making sure that it is delivered in the most appropriate manner. The purpose of the site should be very clear and good content will help reinforce the commitment you've made to deliver only the best information to your visitors.

3. Friendliness

The friendliness of a website is how easily it is navigated by a visitor, indexed by the search engines, and found on the internet. If a visitor can't locate or navigate your website, then what's the point of having a site at all?

A website that cannot be easily navigated becomes an instant failure. Visitors should not have to "hunt down" links or buttons in order to move around your website. We take the time to test out your website before going live, making sure that everything works the way it's suppose to work. You could say that is the "quality control" part of website design.

In addition to making your website easy to navigate by human visitors, we also make sure that your website is easy to navigate by search engine spiders. This allows for optimal indexing of your website on major search engines. One of our top goals is providing you with a search engine friendly design.
