A domain name is the base URL address for a website (such as .com, .org, or .net). A domain name defines your website and can even define your business. Apheus can acquire a top-level domain for your website as part of one of our website design packages if you don't already have a domain name.
Apheus can register your domain name through our third-party registration service. We will search for an appropriate domain for your website and purchase the domain for you. Do to the rarity of one-word .com names, we cannot guarantee that a particular domain name will be available for your website. Your web designer can walk you through the selection process.
Once we have secured an appropriate domain name for your website, we will direct the domain to the appropriate web hosting service. Your domain will typically be live on the internet within 24 hours!
A domain name can be registered for anywhere from 1 to 10 years. To protect your domain, we recommend that you purchase your domain for the longest period available, just in case you fail to reregister at the end of the initial registration period. Once you start to build your online presence, you need to protect your investment - and losing your domain name to a competetor is not an option!
We provide a single .com, .net, or .org domain name with every design package. If you need additional domain names, we can provide that service as well. We will secure and register additional .com, .net, and .org domain names for your website for $30.00 each per year of registration.
