Do you have a retail location?
The internet has allowed companies like ours to conduct business in a whole new way. As such, we currently do not have a retail location. This helps us minimize our overhead so that we can pass the savings on to you!

We locally serve Argos, Indiana and the surrounding area.
How long have you been in business?
Apheus was founded in early 2007 after several months of collaboration between its founding members. The company brought together innovative people who were willing to build a solid and focused future. These talented individuals have brought decades of practical experience into the company.
Who do you do business with?
Apheus provides computer repair and website design services for companies in the transportation, automotive, manufacturing, and food sectors as well as a substanital base of home users.
How long does it take to fix a computer?
This is a question with many broad answers. Generally, we have found that most computer problems can be fixed in less than two hours. Of course, not every problem is the same. Some problems can be so perplexing that it could take a day or two just to determine the cause of the problem.
Do you have to erase my hard drive in order to get rid of a computer virus?
Generally, the answer is no unless its a severe case. Many people are surprised when we tell them that we can clean their system of viruses and other malicious software without wiping the hard drive. At many other computer repair shops, this is standard procedure. We take the time to do the job right!
My computer is making a "clicking" sound. What does that mean?
Unfortunately, this is never a good sign. If your computer is making a clicking or ticking sound it usually means that the hard drive has suffered a physical failure. The general course of action is to replace the hard drive.
My hard drive has failed. Can you recover any of the data?
Yes, is it possible to recover data from a physically damaged hard drive. If you absolutely must have the data stored on the drive, we can send the hard drive out to a trusted data recovery company for an evaluation. However, be forewarned that this type of service is very expensive. Most of our customers opt to simply replace the hard drive.
Do you recommend backing up data on an external hard drive or a remote server?
The quick answer is "both." External hard drives are great ways to back up your important data. However, they can suffer the same fate as the hard drive inside of your computer. They are subject to failure, theft, fires, and floods just like your home computer or laptop. Backing up your data to a remote location is a great alternative. However, the downside is that you must have a high-speed internet connection and pay a monthly fee (usually based on the amount of data stored) for the service. Regardless of the option you choose, we definitely suggest that you back up your data!
How long does it take to build a custom website?
It depends completely upon the complexity of the website. We have designed some websites in as little as 24 hours with some ecommerce projects lasting several weeks.
Are your web designs cross-browser compatible?
We test our website designs with Internet Explorer 6 & 7, Safari 3, Firefox 2, and Opera 9 on multiple IBM-compatible PC's. While we make every attempt to make sure that your website is compatible with as many browsers as possible, we cannot guarantee that your website will look or function exactly the same in every type web browser.
How fast will my website load once complete?
That depends entirely upon the amount of data embedded into each of your web pages and the types of internet connections your visitors will have. We try to keep the file size of certain website elements such images, flash objects, and other media on the "low side" so that your website will load faster. Your website is designed on computer systems with broadband internet access, but we can deliberately lower our connection speeds down to a crawl in order to accurately judge your website's response times. We also use a variety website analyzation tools to check your website for a broad range of other issues that can affect your load times.
I already have a website, can you redesign my website so that it looks nice?
Absolutely! Website redesign is one of our specialties. We can take your old website and freshen it up with new graphics, improve flow, and possibly increase your search engine rankings.
Another web design company said they can guarantee me high page ranks in various search engines. Do you have a similar guarantee?
No web design company can honestly make that claim. In fact, certain methods that some website designers may use to increase your page rankings can cause your website to get excluded from Google, Yahoo, and MSN.
Will you submit my URL to the search engines?
Yes! We will submit your URL to the three major search engines: Google, Yahoo, and MSN Live Search. This is included with your website design package. |
