Bob's Reflections of Argos
Argos, Indiana has been my home for over three decades. My family moved here on Muckshaw Road from near Leiters Ford when I was just three years old and I've lived here ever since. We left behind the family sawmill and my grandmother's farm in rural Fulton County so my dad could be closer to his job in Plymouth.
I graduated from Argos High School in 1993 and came back to work at the school driving a school bus and later worked as an in-school suspension instructor. I still see a lot of my students, having grown up and starting to put their own kids on the school bus. I feel very fortunate to have touched so many lives in my short time at the school.
I love living in Argos, but most of my friends see it as an odd choice. The don't understand why I like to live out in the middle of nowhere ("BFE" as they call it). I've thought about moving away a few times, but when you've lived here as long as I have, you start to understand why Argos is so hard to leave - the friendly people, the relaxed lifestyle, and the general good feeling you get from living in community with just one stop light.
Maybe I'm a little prejudiced, but I think Argos is one of the best places to live. So long as I have the internet and can keep this business going, I'll be happy here.
